How Hawk-eyed DCI sleuths nabbed Eritreans

In a coordinated effort, Directorate of Criminal Investigation officers nabbed a group of Eritrean nationals suspected to be victims of human trafficking.

The eight victims, aged between 17 and 31, are believed to have been destined to Asia before they were busted by police.

Acting on a tip-off, reports say that sleuths nabbed the vehicle that was transporting the victims at Wamba Junction in Isiolo County. 

Also arrested were individuals suspected to have been facilitating their illegal movements through Kenya.

Their names are; Alhabass Ali, Abdi Hassan, and Ibrahim Adan.

However, one managed to escape and is being pursued by the police.

Police, on Friday, detained two vehicles believed to be connected to the trafficking ring. 

This incident comes four weeks after detectives, who were acting on a tip-off, unearthed a human trafficking ring in Kakamega and rescued 38 women.

The women, aged between 19 and 45, were preparing to travel to the Middle East where when they were nabbed.

A woman implicated in the racket was arrested and detained at a Kakamega police station.
