AFC Leopards defender ruled out with torn ligament

Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side AFC Leopards will have to do without the services of defender Moses Mburu for an unspecified period after it was confirmed that the player was out with a torn anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL).

In a statement on the club’s official Twitter feed, Mbuuru who was just returning from an injury suffered the setback in their 2-1 win over Tusker FC three weeks ago.

“Quick recovery to our left back Moses Mburu who is out with a torn anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL).

“He was injured on his return to our squad in a Kenya Premier League match vs Tusker FC at Kenyatta Stadium Machakos- a match which he had an assist,” the statement noted.

Despite his absence, the club had good news to note as it confirmed that the duo of Ezekiel Seda and Said Tsuma were already back training with the first team.A

“After long injury layoffs, our midfielders Ezekiel Seda and Said Tsuma are back. They are currently training with the team in Kakamega,” the club noted.

AFC Leopards who have been blowing hot and cold under the guidance of Rwandese Cassa Mbungo were held by Vihiga United in midweek and will hope for a change of fortunes when they come against Chemelil Sugar FC in their next league clash.
