After three judges, Roselyn Nambuye, Daniel Musinga, and Patrick Kiage reversed a 15-year sentence of a man who impregnated a 17-year-old girl,a new proposal has been put forward by the Court of Appeal in Kenya to lower the age of consent to 16 years old.
“It’s unconscionable that we can be contemplating, imagining or discussing lowering the age of consent to 16 . The target can only be to marry off or do unprintable things to our under age girls,” senator Mutula Kilonzo has tweeted.
A disappointed Kenyan in addition stated that it’s not about what teenagers will do with teenagers,it is what the older women and men will do with the excuse that a 16-year-old gave consent. Age of consent is about relative power not about biology.
