Standstill at the Kenya – Tanzania border as Namanga residents demonstrate against Tanzanian police arrest of a Kenyan at his shop in Kenyan side of the border.
The residents claim that the Tanzanian police act with impunity adding that the conductor was arrested on Kenyan soil on flimsy excuses and whisked into Tanzania.
Few days ago an Immigration officer based along the Kenya –Tanzania Namanga border and two of his accomplices were yesterday arrested by the Ethics and anti Corruption Commission officer over corruption allegations… the EACC investigators ambushed the immigration border office and arrested the three before they were taken to Namanga police station under tight security.
The head of immigration Joseph Mwikia is said to have been running a private a forex bureau within the immigration department together.
