A man used his kitchen knife to cut off his infected foot because he could not afford a medical fee for amputation.
According to Daily Mail, the 62-year-old Ukrainian man got rid of his limb while the wife was watching and did not take any painkillers before or after the procedure. After amputating his infected foot, Vladimir threw it in the trash where a neighbour’s dog picked it.
The dog then took the dismembered foot to its owner’s place where it planned to dig in and enjoy its ‘meal.’ A curious resident then spotted the black foot and immediately wondered what it could be.
After looking closely the resident, Irina, noticed toes and nails and immediately realised it was a human body part.
“At first I could not make what was it. Then I saw toes and nails and realised it was a human body part. I felt sick,” she said. She called the police who launched a murder investigation after suspecting the foot could belong to a murder victim.
However, the investigations were stopped when Vladimir was discovered to be the owner of the rotten foot. Vladimir was rushed to hospital after his limb got inflamed.
When asked why he took matters into his own hands, he said he could not afford to get the foot amputated in a hospital.
