Murang’a County MP Sabina Chege has told off the media for alleging there is a plan to impeach Deputy President William Ruto.

In a morning TV interview, Sabina said an article suggesting a bid by ODM party to impeach the DP is a show of how poorly researched stories are done.

“I have been a journalist and i now feel that such a story warrants journalists to be taken back to school,” she stated.

Sabina, an ardent supporter of Ruto was criticizing a story where Siaya Senator James Orengo has been quoted stating he will move a motion to have Deputy President Ruto sent home on the basis of gross misconduct.

“There is no such move by ODM party and some of the members are here yet they do not have an idea, the journalist who wrote this should quote Orengo not the party and go back to school,” she said on Citizen TV’s News Review.

Orengo argued that the country cannot move forward with a Deputy President who is at the centre, any time a corruption case is mentioned.

He said that the threshold for the removing of the Deputy President in office on the constitutional grounds is much lower than the criminal prosecution threshold.
