Government accused of cutting electricity to Miguna’s home after being served

Author Miguna Miguna has accused the government of “coercive acts” in which Kenya Power cut power to his home after he expressed the intention to take action against key government officials.

The former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate has specifically called out names of Interor Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and Immigration
Principal Secretary Gordon Kihalangwa.

Referring to the two as President Uhuru Kenyatta’s “despotic agents”, Miguna said three days after he notified the Attorney General of his intention to sue CS Mtiang’i and PS Kihalangwa, Kenya Power cut electricity to his home.

The tough-talking Miguna added that he will not be deterred, saying, “No amount of coercive acts, intimidation, threats, bribery, physical assault or torture will scare me.”

Miguna Miguna was forcefully deported from Kenya last year after the parallel swearing in of opposition leader Raila Odinga.
