Fake or genuine? Barclays Bank issues a statement over money dispensed in their ATMs

The Barclays Bank of Kenya has on Thursday issued an update regarding the Tuesday incident where fake currency was busted at Queensway  Branch, Nairobi.

In a statement seen by Daily Active, the bank has reassured its customers that they have put in place robust processes to ensure that all currencies dispensed over the bank counter and ATM’s is genuine.

“As a precaution we have used sniffer dogs to assure ourselves and the public that their is no threat posed by the items contained in the safe deposit boxes.” The statement added.

On the same note, four key suspects linked to the fake notes at Barclays Bank have been denied bail by a Nairobi court.

The court has ordered the police to remand them at Kileleshwa police station until Tuesday.
