Litein gang rape suspect arrested after he fled to Narok

The four-man-gang that assaulted three girls and killed a woman might be at its verge of collapsing after a man suspected to have fleed was nabbed.

 The Bureti incident in Kericho county left a woman killed and her three daughters raped after a gang armed with crude weapons raided their home in Samuget village, Kericho County.

The four-man gang is reported to have descended on the old man while he was asleep and robbed him of Ksh.5000, his mobile phone before fatally hitting his wife Anna Chepkwony on the head.

The gang that was armed with knives, chisels and iron bars also attacked the house help, Sheila Cherotich, leaving her unconscious.

During the 4am incident, the couple’s three daughters aged between 11- 29 years were sexually assaulted.

Kericho County police commander James Mugera said the man had fled to Narok after committing the beastly act.

The police boss added that they are following crucial leads which may lead to the arrest of other suspects linked to the incident.

The suspect will be arraigned in court after investigation is complete.
