Sonko pledges 100,000 reward for information that will link police to culprits behind abandoned baby

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has pledged 100,000 reward for information that will link the police to perpetrators behind an incident of an abandoned baby.

The Governor says that he is saddened  by a woman who delivered a bouncing baby boy and abandoned him after tying the baby with a tight rope on the neck, in suspected attempts to hang or strangle him to death.

Sonko condemned the act saying that it is something that cannot be tolerated.

The abandoned baby was luckily rescued by a good Samaritan and rushed to Mukuru kwa Reuben Maternity Hospital where he got first aid after the rope on the neck was removed.

The baby was then transferred to Mama Lucy Hospital since his condition is still worrying.

The Governor also confirmed that matter has been reported to the police.

As the baby is fighting for his life under the care of doctors, Sonko says that he wishes that the mother would have reached out for help to raise the child instead of abandoning the child in such an inhumane way.

His prayer is that the baby may survive and fulfill the purpose which God created him for.
