A baby boy has been rescued after his mother abandoned him with a tight rope tied on his neck.
The report was shared by Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko who condemned the act saying that it will not be tolerated in the city.
The Nairobi Governor revealed that the baby was rescued by a good Samaritan and rushed to Mukuru kwa Reuben Maternity Hospital where the rope on the neck was removed and some first aid done on him.
Since the baby is not in a good condition, he was transferred to Mama Lucy Hospital where doctors are trying to save his life.
Sonko confirmed that the matter has been reported at Mukuru kwa Reuben Police Post Vide OB No. 32/9/3/2019.
The Governor has also offered a reward of 100,000/= to anyone who will give information that will help the police get the person behind the heinous act.
He also reiterated that instead of doing such an act to the baby, the mother would have called out for well wishers to help her.
