Police officers in Igonga Division, Bomariba ward in Kisii County have arrested a man who allegedly sodomized another man who was sleeping on the road drunk.
The suspect identified as Nyangaresi Nyandego, a resident of Nyabiosi village was nabbed after community policing officers were tipped by members of the public where he has been hiding.
Benjamin Ayuma area chief confirmed the arrest saying the suspect has since been transferred to Gesonso police station for court processing.
“Yes, it is the suspect was nabbed by community policing officers who surrendered him to Igonga police post. He has since been moved to Gesonso police station from where he will be arraigned in court,” said the chief.
He said the suspect is a notorious bhang addict who found the victim identified as Onsombi who hails from Boisukia village sleeping on the road at night and sodomized him.
“Everyone was left in a rude shock following the incident which has never happened in the village before. The suspect will face the law to serve as an example to others fond of smoking bhang to engage in crime,” he added.
