Kenya’s Sensation Muthoni the Drummer Queen is among the 6 women who received the honours and opportunity to have their stories featured by Google Africa.
Google Africa on You Tube shared inspirational stories of six musicians from Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa – Teni the Entertainer and Simi in Nigeria, Sho Madjozi, Lady Zamar and Shekhinah in South Africa, and Muthoni Drummer Queen in Kenya.
This was done in the spirit of recognizing and appreciating the women in line to the International Women’s Day celebrations.

Through the stories that they shared, Google Africa hopes and believe that it may serve as a motivation to the next generation of women who aspire to achieve their dreams.
Apart from being artists, the women are also entrepreneurs and also play a key role in life changing initiatives in the society.
Women in the entertainment industry are faced with challenges and the 6 artists are symbol of hope and manifest the ability of women to thrive in such a competitive environment.

For Muthoni the drummer Queen, she has been in the frontline not just for her music but also has a great contribution in advocacy and fighting for women’s rights among other courses with her focus being making a difference in the society.
In the video, the Kenyan musician says that in the music industry, where she could not change, she created what was indeed.
Great insights indeed from the multi talented artist and she is an icon and a role model to other upcoming artists.

Apart from this chance to share her story, Muthoni the drummer Queen has announced that she will be giving a talk at the Google International Women’s day event which will be held in Nairobi.
