The 6th devolution conference took place in Kirinyaga County and dozens of delegates from 47 counties attended.
But as the deputy president William Ruto brought the conference to an end on Thursday 7th March, one thing was clear, majority of the delegates were held hostage by “night nurses” who drained them to their last coin.
Armed with packets of Condoms, the “nurses” thronged guest houses to make fun of the famous night activities which puts most delegates busy at work.
The county government of Kirinyaga had distributed more than 150,000 condoms for use, its reported that they weren’t enough and delegates had to import from neighbouring counties.
The Huduma Centres alongside County government partnered with the Aids Healthcare Foundation and the National Aids Control Council. The Aids Healthcare Foundation to distribute the essential commodity.
Speaking to Daily Active Kenya, Kenya’s “King of Condom” Stanley Ngara has said the move by inter agencies to distribute condoms was recommendable as many lives were spared.
Mr. King as known among peers said Kenyans shouldn’t shy of using the precious commodity as the era of victimization is over.
“I understand that Waiguru’s gift to delegates(Condoms) was a blessing and at the same time a curse, the delegates enjoyed to the fullest the delicacies of Mount Kenya region while some were robbed off their valuables,” Ngara said.
ODM Leader Raila Odinga on Wednesday made light comments on delegates’ sexual escapades while attending the sixth annual Devolution Conference in Kirinyaga.
Odinga made reference to an incident during the 2018 conference which was held in Kakamega where several delegates were held hostages by the unwelcomed guests.
Kirinyaga Deputy Governor Peter Ndambiri caught national headlines after a video was leaked where some blackmailers had filmed him engaging in an affair with an unidentified woman.
“Last year when we were in Kakamega, there was adverse reports about Kirinyaga. The Deputy Governor had been attacked, it was like a blackmail and I think Anne Waiguru decided to campaign that Kirinyaga be the next host so that they can benefit from what Kakamega benefited from,” Odinga said amid uproar from delegates.
Anonymous source who operates a guest house in Kutus has hinted how some of the delegates were robbed off their valuables but they couldn’t report the incidents for fear of victimization by the society.
