Maria Obonyo hopes once she completes her education she will be a teacher.
The Ugandan scholar is a farmer decided to get education after all her relatives passed on and there was nobody to look after her.
The hopeful granny further said she hopes once she is done with her primary and secondary education, she would love to join university.
“I decided to enrol at the school because I lost all my relatives and there was nobody to take care of me. I am determined to study until I graduate from Makerere University as a teacher,” she said.
Maria who was ridiculed for lacking the ability to read and write wanted to prove to her mockers she is also able to do better and get an education.
According to Stella Tayona, the school’s director, the aged pupil enrolled in her school since baby class and graduated at the top of the class.
“She is a hardworking pupil who never misses classes and is social with fellow classmates,” Tayona said.
