After the release of her new song ‘Kitoko’, it was noticed that Avril was no longer with Kaka Empire. In the song, she featured the Congolose musician, L Rice where they went the Lingala way.
She said; ” I was signed in for a management contract, but yes i am no longer with Kaka empire. I left because i needed a different chapter. Right now I have my own thing ‘link sasa universal’ with some friends. Its all about music distribution and songwriters.
Link sasa universal has worked with various artists, Master Peace, Wahu and Tommy Flavor from Tanzania in terms of distribution and publishing their music. Slowly we are being fashioned into a label.”
She confesses that as much as she is independent, the work as a signed in artiste was less. The only problem comes in when it is time for any decision-making it takes a while but being independent, you can wake up and do what makes you happy.
