Former Senator Paul Njoroge has accused the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) of refusing to give back his gun despite a court order.

The former Senator says that he has made several trips to the DCI with the court order compelling them to give back the gun.

“Police are illegally holding my gun even after being directed by the courts to return it to me.

“It is annoying that they are not giving a reason for holding it,” Njoroge told reporters.

The former parliamentarian went viral in February 2017 when he threatened former Nairobi deputy governor Polycarp Igathe with his gun.

At the time, Mr Njoroge claimed that Igathe and other Vivo Energy staff had illegally taken over a petrol station that he had been operating.

Mr Igathe later dropped criminal charges against Njoroge.
