Speculation is rife with just how Deputy President William Ruto came up with the figure Sh 7 billion after reports went out that about Sh 21 billion was lost.
First on his case was Embakasi East MP Babu Owino who claimed that the deputy president knows only the Sh 7 billion as he allegedly received it as kickback.
Flat lie
“You’ve heard that govt has lost about Sh21bn in Kimwarer & Aror dam, which is a flat lie! The money in question is about Sh7 billion, & for every coin that has been paid, we have a bank guarantee. No money will be lost because we are a responsible govt ,” Ruto said during a State of the Judiciary Address.
