EACC on the plot to steal Sh 4.8 billion from the prisons

Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission is probing an alleged theft involving Sh 4.8 billion from the department of correctional services.

Affirming the investigation, EACC Chief Executive Officer Twalib Mbarak on Thursday said that the commission knew about a plan to siphon Sh. 4.8 billion through the delicate honor.

“We are researching the issue and we are on the last stages,”


Mbarak said.

Archives demonstrate that there was no delicate execution attempted before the installment were to be made in this way putting open assets in danger of misfortune. Two main secretaries (PS) are presently being examined over the granting of the delicate after President Uhuru Kenyatta called upon all arms of the administration to face the bad habit.

The PS’s on the radar are previous Sports Principal Secretary Richard Ekai and Post-Training and Skills Development Principal Secretary Alfred Cheruiyot and previous Sports Principal Secretary Richard Ekai.
