Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones has gone hard on the media, hours after the death of veteran rapper Chris Kantai went public.
In a message on Instagram, Khaligraph said that after Kantai came out of rehab a few years ago, the media did not motivate him despite his efforts to make a music comeback.
He went on to accuse the media of instead focused on how dejected his life had turned out to be because of alcohol addiction, even after he had fully reformed.

“This is 3 years ago when I did a song with the Late Kris Kantai but instead of the media motivating during his comeback, they only talked about how miserable he was cause of alcoholism even after he was done with rehab and was fully reformed,” read part of the post.
Papa Jones also called on the media to stop waiting for artistes to die and start talking about how they inspired many people while they were still alive.
“Let’s Stop waiting for our pioneers to die so that we can talk about how they are legends and inspired us while they were alive, I know some Artists who paved the way for us who are undergoing through depression right now, Lets help them now, Rest in Peace Kantai #RESPECTTHEOGS,” said Khalighraph.
Chris Kantai who was famed for songs such as ‘Issues, ‘Huu ni nani G’ and ‘Ting Badi Malo’ a collabo with Khaligraph Jones passed on on Wednesday morning.
He died while undergoing treatment at St. Francis Hospital in Kasarani.
Kantai enjoyed a private life away from the media and is survived by a child.
