Somber mood has hit the music industry following the sudden death of Kenyan rapper Chris Kantai.
Kantai’s family is yet to disclose what led to the rapper’s death, he is said to have been rushed to the hospital early in the morning.
According reports doing rounds, Kantai has been fighting alcoholism for the last few years and has even been seeking treatment for his addiction.
Kantai has been remembered by most of his fans for his song “Happy” featuring female rapper STL which was actually her big break song.
Three years ago, In a bid to make a comeback Kantai had a collaboration with fellow Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones called Ting Badi Malo.
Veteran Kenyan rapper Chris Kantai has been reported dead this afternoon over what his family is yet to disclose.
He had constantly been to various rehabilitation centres across the country including one in Mombasa.
During his prime years, Kantai dropped some of the biggest Kenyan hits including “Happy” a song that featured female rapper Stella Kimani and brought her to the limelight.
Two years ago, he was the trending topic on social media after photos of him enjoying “Keg” at a local alcohol joint in Zimmerman went viral.
