A middle-aged man from Kitui County was allegedly killed by his elder brother’s wife for leaking information that she was having a having a sexual relationship with his father. The woman from Kiomo Location in Mwingi Central has since been arrested after she was rescued from an irate mob that wanted to lynch her on Monday.
The mob raided her shop and beat her up as they vowed to kill her. The suspect, namely Mwikali, allegedly orchestrated the murder plan with his lover, the deceased’s father.
Neighbours say the now-deceased had leaked information that Mwikali and her father-in-law were engaging in a sexual relationship behind the back of Mwikali’s husband. Mwikali’s partner says he was “unaware” of the said-illicit relationship.
Mwikali and her father-in-law have been arrested and are being held Mwingi Police Station. The deceased was taken to a Mwingi Central hospital mortuary.
