Chelsea to permanently sell youth player for £4m despite midfielder never playing for senior side

Blues youngster Kasey Palmer is set to join Bristol City on a permanent £4million switch this summer.

The 22-year-old moved to Ashton Gate last month after his loan stint with Blackburn was scrapped.

Palmer hit three goals in 17 appearances for Rovers before leaving Ewood Park and heading south.

And the midfielder has played a crucial role in Lee Johnson’s side’s charge up the table winning seven Championship games on the bounce before losing at Norwich on Saturday.

His move was supposed to be until the end of the season to aid his development.

But Palmer looks to have already done enough to convince Johnson his long-term future is with the Robins.
