How Mombasa County is fast tracking revenue collection to uplift the economy

The Rapid Results Initiative (RRI) task force team entitled with revenue enhancement in Mombasa County yesterday took a sector approach in order to penetrate and capitalize on numerous revenue streams across the six Sub Counties.

Officers dispatched in Mvita sub county focused on Public Service Vehicles (PSV) levy stickers while the team in Kisauni sub county dealt with hotel levies, Liquor licenses, branding and building permits.

The interdepartmental teams that are being led by officers from finance Mombasa together with the Sub County Admin have encouraged business owners who had not renewed their licenses to do so as soon as possible in order to avoid attracting penalties and arrests.

The County is targeting to raise local revenue in order to increase services to its residents and to ensure those that are ongoing are not disrupted.

Apart from this initiative, Mombasa has been leading the charts in the tourism sector which is also a great investment in the county.

The Governor has also assured full utilization of resources in order to ensure that the counties income raises above the graph of previous years.
