Chairman of the tanga tanga team reveal their fear over Ruto’s stand regarding referendum

After Raila Odinga and Deputy president William Ruto hinting handshake when they agreed that cabinet ministers should sit in parliament as a step towards the achievement of constitutional reforms in the country, a rift with his close allies.

Kitutu Chache legislator Richard Onyonka put President Uhuru Kenyatta on the spot regarding his stand in the calls for a Constitution referendum during the President’s visit of Kisii region on Wednesday.

The MP implored the president in a direct manner to give a straight directive over the matter that has many in the country engaged in discussions.

It is also somewhat clear that the president and his deputy seem to send divergent signals of opinion over the subject matter.

Speculation has it that the president is on one camp together with opposition leader Raila Odinga and the DP is on another opposing camp in relation to matters of the referendum.

The MP stated, “Your Excellency I am the chairman of the Tanga Tanga movement here in Kisii. Today I want you to tell us what you want.”

“Do you want a referendum or not? We don’t want this confusion where the DP is saying this and you saying that. Tell us,” he added.
