Why Uhuru Kenyatta’s Key Projects Have Stalled

President Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto launched a manifesto which featured various projects. Some of these projects kick started well but later stalled while others never began at all.

According to a report by Treasury Principal Secretary which was presented in Parliament on Wednesday, a chunk of Jubilee’s key projects had stuck. The reason given for delay of these projects is insufficient funds

Some of the projects on stand still include civil work on the Nanyuki airstrip, rehabilitation of Wajir Airport, Tseikuru airstrip, Voi Ikanga airstrip, Wagadud airstrip and Wilson Airport.

Work on a ‘reallocation unit’ at Kibera, fencing of Embakasi land, and a transport data center.

The department of Trade and the Correctional Services Department were also listed as some of the stalled projects

University projects at Kirinyaga, South Eastern Kenya, Kisii, Laikipia, Pwani, Multimedia, Muranga, Egerton, Meru, Machakos, Nairobi, TUM, and Kabianga. 

Mired stadiums also featured on the list contrary to the promise by Deputy president William Ruto During the 2017 campaigns, hat most stadiums would be completed in six months.

Rehabilitation of select roads in Gikomba, the road linking Githurai 44 and Githurai 45 and construction of access to Thika Greens.

Surveillance equipment for work environment and workers’ health, rehabilitation of safety house in Nairobi, upgrade of Kenya Textile Training Institute in Nairobi and upgrade of a national industrial and vocational training center in Nairobi were also tabled in parliament

In the Agriculture ministry, the department of Irrigation was yet to complete Ksh4.1 billion projects, excluding Ksh1 billion to be executed by the National Irrigation Board In the Agriculture ministry,

State Department of Interior headed by Fred Matiang’i was also cited after it deferred construction of a Crime Data Repository Unit.

he All these projects have not been completed due to lack of fiances ,and billions are required to see these projects complete
