The one thing that Ruto wants NGO’s to Do

Deputy President William Ruto has challenged leaders to involve the community in planning and implementation of development projects.

The DP cautioned against implementing projects whose significance had no bearing on the livelihoods of the community.

The Deputy President William Ruto met stakeholders from the North Eastern Development Initiative, leaders from the northeastern region, principal secretaries and officials from government ministries.

It was during this meeting that the DP emphasized the need for involving the community in the implementation of development projects.

The North Eastern Development Initiative (NEDI), which was conceptualized by the government in collaboration with the World Bank, aims at initiating development projects in marginalized counties such as Mandera Garissa, Isiolo, Lamu, Marsabit, Samburu, Tana River, Turkana, Wajir, and West Pokot.
