Ruto’s special 6 year old entertainer airlifted for treatment

Embattled Deputy President Wiliam Ruto has fulifilled an act of kindness to his little buddy who amazed him with his performance once when he was a chief guest of an event.

When he addressed the huge gathering the DP promised he would take care of Ian’s medical bill to see that he was fully cured.

Yvonne Chelegat, mother to six-year-old later on got rare opportunity to speak to Ruto at the sideline about her son’s ailment. And it was established the Olengisha Bright Star Academy kindergarten was in need of medical attention.

According to Chelegat, her son’s tribulations started when he developed a small scar on his back prompting the family to seek doctor’s advice but all in vain as it his head somehow kept swelling.

From medical records, he is suffering from a condition doctors call Spina bifida which is a birth defect where there is incomplete closing of the backbone and membranes around the spinal cord.

Ian was airlifted to Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi on Tuesday, February 19, and his mother hopes doctors will put his woes to end as he pursues his education.

Recently however an unborn baby successfully underwent spinal cord surgery from inside the mother’s womb in a groundbreaking operation, it was revealed.

Surgeons performed the pioneering procedure at 24 weeks’ gestation after scans revealed the feotus had spina bifida.

The condition can leave sufferers with walking difficulties and even paralysis because the spinal cord does not fully develop during pregnancy.
