Kenya Red Cross issues a statement amidst Tension after tribal clashes in Turkana

The Kenya Red Cross has come out to issue an updated state of the tribal conflict which in Turkana County Kainuk. The conflict broke out on 12th February and it has been going on for over a week now.

Kenya Red Cross has expressed concerns over the raising tensions in the area as Turkana and Pokot communities continue raging anger over each other.

Although the state at Kainuk is volatile, The Kenya Red Cross has expressed positive information about a  pregnant woman who was caught up in the gun fight but rescued and transferred in Moi Referral Hospital has delivered a bouncing baby boy.

They have also updated on the the health status of other people injured during the tribal clashes between the two communities.

Kenya Red Cross has hailed Kenyan Government for intervening to stop more bloodshed and also supporting them in the rescue mission. They have also appreciated the local leaders for playing a vital role in bringing peace between the communities of Turkana and Pokot.

Though they have advised residents to continue communicating incase of any other emergency.
