shocking! this is why nairobians are keeping off the streets

With the Us embassy warning that it has credible information of an imminent terror attack, days after the east African nation announced it is sending troops to Somalia to battle Islamist militants and just after Kenya experienced a terror attack  which cost 21 lives at Dussit D2 hotel, Kenyans have been so cautious.

The embassy said that the  attack is likely to target places that foreigners congregate in Kenya, including malls and night clubs. This does not exclude the city streets which are ever congested with people.

A pedestrian and a guard noticed a bag left outside a city supermarket. Since Kenyans  have become vigilant and quick to report suspicious persons and activities to the police, the watchman immediately carted the luggage to an open space and informed police. Luckily it only had garments.

This comes after two people; cart puller and a newspaper vendor were injured after an explosion happened at Latema Road, Tom Mboya Street near Odeon Cinema. This was after a woman allegedly handed the box carrying the explosive device to a trolley puller to deliver to the Latema Road matatu stage but disappeared minutes later after excusing herself at the Latema-Tom Mboya junction to get her identity card that she claimed to have forgotten.
