Maurizio Sarri Can Save Chelsea Job Only By Beating This Two Teams

Italian Sarri has come under immense pressure in recent weeks following a string of poor performances from his Chelsea side.

That pressure ramped up ten-fold on Sunday when the Blues were thrashed 6-0 by title-chasing Manchester City.

Chelsea’s humiliating defeat at the Etihad has left them in sixth place, though they are only one point behind fourth-placed Manchester United.

Recent results – in particular those against City and Bournemouth – have prompted many fans to call for Sarri’s head.

Parlour doesn’t foresee Blues owner Roman Abramovich wielding the axe – which he’s no stranger to doing – anytime soon.

But he believes Sarri can save his job with wins over United and Tottenham.

“I don’t think they will sack him at the moment,” the former Arsenal man said during an appearance on talkSPORT.

“They will stick with him.

“It’s a big, big four or five games for them. Malmo in the Europa League, the big FA Cup game vs Man Utd. Then the League Cup final vs City and then Spurs in the league. He could turn it around quickly. It’s about how the team bounces back.I’m sure Sarri will be in today having a meeting, looking at the tape and organisation.

“It’s a little bit about the manager. But the players as well.”

One man who thinks Sarri should be relieved of his duties is former Blues hitman Chris Sutton, who reckons the ex-Napoli boss won’t guide the club to a top-four finish this campaign.

He told BBC Radio 5 Live: “It is (all over the place) and if Chelsea want to get in the top four is Sarri the man to do that?

“I’m not so sure he is and they’ve got some big game coming up.”

Chelsea will look to get back to winning ways on Thursday evening when they travel to Sweden to take on Malmo the first leg of their Europa League last-32 tie.
