Sonko slapped and dumped as County workers down their tools

Nairobi county workers to go on strike Tuesday citing failure by county government to honour 2017 CBA, KCGWU says.

Nairobi county has failed to implement the collective bargain terms as agreed.

The CBA, signed during former governor Evans Kidero’s term, increased the workers’ pay by 15 per cent. The county wage bill currently stands at Sh1.2 billion per month.

Sonko previously tried to distance himself from the CBA saying it was agreed during his tenure but the workers have vowed to down their tools this time round.

If the strike goes on as planned it will be the mother of all strikes that will cripple all services in the county
