You Need Our Prayers, Kenyans React to Kalonzo’s Remarks of Withdrawing Presidential Term Limit

Wiper Party leader and former Vice president declared that the push for referendum to widen the executive is unstoppable and Kenyans are ready for it.

Kalonzo disclosed of the consensus that is underway between the opposition parties and the ruling party to oversee the review exercise.

“I foresee a situation where Wiper Democratic Movement will go into coalition with Jubilee, ODM, ANC, Ford Kenya and form one indivisible political juggernaut ambaye itaproduce the next Prime under a new constitution,’’ Kalonzo said.

The former VP was speaking in a meeting with Kamba leaders in Machakos county on Friday. He reiterated that current constitution needs some changes to avoid the system of “winner takes it all’’ in every election, which has deeply divided Kenyans over years.

Musyoka has openly declared his support for the constitutional review to expand the executive.

“But now we have found a solution and the solution is our preparedness to amend our Constitution and to make this country once and for all an all inclusive State,” he stated.

However, he encouraged every Kenyan to support president Kenyatta and even mentioned that he is ready to support the president if he decides to vie for another term if the reviewed constitution will allow him.

A remark that has sparkled a lot of reaction from many Kenyans.

His counterpart, Muthama who was also present at the meeting expressed his hope for Kalonzo’s ascension to power following the review of the new constitution.

Muthama said in a statement, “tunaomba Mungu uwezo wake uonekane, Kalonzo aingie na wale wengine tukipindua katiba vile tunatengeneza tujitawale Kenya yetu iwe hakuna madaraka ya mtu mmoja..madaraka ni ya watu wote,”( We pray to God that His power be seen, Kalonzo to join the others while we change the constitution as we are preparing to get our freedom in our nation, which belongs to us all and not one person.)

At the same occasion, the Wiper leader downplayed the rising rebellion caused by three governors from the region- Alfred Mutua, Kivutha Kibwana and Charity Ngilu.

He said that the three are part of them and they have every right to ascend to any position of their wish, though he cautioned them to play within the game rules.

On her part, Makueni Woman Rep. Rose Mutheu urged all leaders to put aside their political issues and stop insulting one another.
