Poleni Walevi! No more Legend Brandy and Blue Moon

Revelers will no longer be able to get the famous Blue Moon Vodka and Legend, when they visit their local joints.

This is after DCI detectives and officers from KRA  raided, Africa Spirits Limited on Friday morning and arrested the Production Manager.

The company which also manufactures Furaha, Glen Rock and Gypsy King is on the spot for producing counterfeit alcohol and using fake excise stamps to evade tax.

It is for these and many reasons that KRA wants the company closed to facilitate investigations.

Suspected 312,000 litres of illicit ethanol was also found within their premises, and together with the 21 million counterfeit excise stamps, are worth Sh1.2 billion.

“This operation is part of the Government ongoing campaign against illicit trade aimed at ensuring compliance with tax and consumer protection laws,” read a joint statement from KRA and DCI.

DCI said the Directors of the Company and other senior management are being sought
