Brother of Nairobi woman killed on her way to hospital threatened by mysterious people

The life of the brother of a Nairobi woman who disappeared while going to hospital only to be found dead at City mortuary is in danger. Carrington Odira, brother to the late Mildred Odira said he was traced to his home by unknown men who told him to shut up about his sister’s death or he would also die.

In an interview with Citizen TV, on Tuesday, February 5, Carrington said he woke up that morning and found two people on a motorbike waiting outside his gate. He said he suspected the two were among individuals who had traced him alongside his cousin Boniface Kaseo from City mortuary on Monday, February 4, evening.

“I opened the gate and found two men on a motorbike. They blatantly told me to desist from pursuing Mildred’s case or they would kill me. I waited for them to leave so that I could mark the registration number of the motobike but it was blank,” he said. The deceased’s brother said he had recorded a statement about the same at Tassia Police Station.

He was however adamant that he would not be cowed from following up his sister’s brutal murder and wondered how somebody would end the life of their beloved one and still come to threaten hi. “I am ready to go down for following up my sister’s killing. It is disrespectful that after committing the offence someone would be bold enough to come and threaten me at my door,” Carrington said.

Carringtone said he could not take the threats lightly further explaining that his sister’s killing could be a planned thing, wondering how the two men located his home. Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo who was in the company of Carrington urged investigators into the incident to keep an open mind on the matter. “There are many possibilities. It could be a crime of opportunity which still the perpetrators would do all within their means to conceal,” she said.
