11 matches in, the Kenya Premier League has already served us with unforgettable moments, goals and matches, feats the best league in the never fails to deliver. Here we take a look at some of the most memorable events that have occurred so far in the Premier League.

Most shocking result(MKU 2-Mathare United 1)

So here’s a short story regarding the author of this article and this particular game. I make up my mind to go all the way to the Afraha and watch what will obviously be a Mathare United routine win. I even bet on  Mathare United with my return bus fare because there’s no way MKU are beating Francis Kimanzi’s table toppers. Football however is a game of shocks and to say I was shocked by the outcome of this match would be understating it!

Without a win in 10 league matches and facing the free flowing football from the slumboys,MKU put in a performance that not many expected and managed to achieve what no other team in the League had done: beat Mathare United. The result did little to change things in the standings for both teams but one thing was clearly illustrated, there are no easy games in the Kenya Premier League. Am Lucky i had some extra cash otherwise I would have walked home!

Best moment so far( Dennis Oliech scores from Gor Mahia)

Could he still do it? Has he got it in him? Is he not too old now? These were some of the questions ringing around people’s minds when it was officially announced that Dennis the Menace would roll back the clock and buy some new boots because he would now be a Gor Mahia player! The doubts were put to bed in only his first start for the club when he collected a nice lofted ball into the box before rounding off a defender and coolly slotting the ball past the goalkeeper for his first ever Gor Mahia goal.

The fact that he dedicated the goal to his late mother(Who always wanted to see him play for K’Ogallo) was a really class move from a player who continues to prove that while form may be temporary, class remains permanent!

The non changing factor(AFC Leopards and the woes)

One thing you can bet your on and not feel at risk of losing the bet at any given moment is the fact that AFC Leopards will sack their coach barely 15 games into a new season! Kenya’s second most successful football club has never got it right in terms of in house management and that reflects on the pitch. From players going on strikes to having no specific system of authority, AFC Leopards is easily the worst managed club in Kenya.

This season is no different and after being given a proper hiding by Bandari during the weekend, the Leopards have reacted by naming a new manager, after only 10 matches. Will it change how the team is viewed? Probaly might but if you have some cash to spare, you can bet on the season ending with Leopards on another manager. Banter club!
