Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hopeful of having Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba available for Manchester United’s trip to Leicester.
The Norwegian’s eight-match winning start to life in Old Trafford dugout came to an end in Tuesday’s 2-2 draw with Burnley.
Martial missed that match through injury and Pogba limped out of the ground afterwards, but Solskjaer hopes to have them both available against the Foxes on Sunday.
“We’ve not had a proper session since the game – hopefully both of them can get through that,” the caretaker boss said. “I don’t think there’s anything with Paul. Anthony has done some rehab work, so he’ll try a session today.
“I would imagine he would be available to be involved. He seemed happy yesterday.”
United’s main business on deadline day was tying Martial down to a new contract.
The forward looked bound for the exit a matter of months ago, but has now signed a new and improved deal until 2024 with the option of a further year.
“It’s a confirmation that we are happy with him,” Solskjaer said. “We believe in him because he’s got fantastic potential. He’s had some ups and downs at the club – he’s been top scorer, he’s been developing.
“Of course as a young lad moving abroad it’s not easy, but now he knows he’s going to stay here for the coming future and we believe in him. I certainly believe in him.”
While Martial re-committed to the club, Marouane Fellaini edged closer towards an exit to China.
The Belgium international has been at Old Trafford since 2013 and now looks set to start a new chapter with Shandong Luneng after reaching an agreement in principle with United.

Asked to provide an update on Fellaini, Solskjaer said: “Nothing’s confirmed there yet, so obviously what I talk to players about would have to be between the two of us.
“We had good discussions, obviously he got injured so we spoke about that but nothing’s confirmed so I can’t say more, really.”
