The government has issued an alert to members of the public over National Hospital Insurance Funds(NHIF)cards.
Taking to social media, Huduma Kenya explained that they were experiencing challenges in printing the cards hence those applying for them would experience delays.
“Huduma Kenya notifies the general public that we are experiencing challenges with printing of NHIF cards countrywide,” read the notice.
They, however, asked the public to be patient since the centre was working to rectify the situation.
“We deeply regret this. Kindly bear with us as we work with our partners to resolve the issue,” continued the notice.
According to Huduma CEO Dennis Mutuku clarified that the big issue was with the printers that had also affected NHIF offices.
“The big issue is with the printers, sometimes the ribbons run out and the re-stocking takes time…they have challenges with re-stocking the printers,” he stated.
He further revealed that several other centres would experience the same problem but explained that customers who continue to apply for the card would get it within two weeks.
“There are other centres that might run out in the course of this week or next week…In some centres you might go but not get the card instantly as is the practice…maybe a month or two they might have resolved the replenishing,” he disclosed.
