‘Frequent politicking cannot bring food to Kenyans’,..Kiraithe against 2022 politics obsession

After the disovery of the news that our Inspector General of police Mr.Joseph Boinnet’s four year non-renewable tenure is coming to an end, names have popped up  over who could take over the position.

Government spokesman Erick Kirathe together with GSU commandant Douglas Kanja, police spokesman Charles Owino and DCI boss George Kinoti were among the top cops that appeared capable of replacing IG Boinnet.

However Kiraithe has already given a dismissal to the position.Speaking at a press briefing in Mombasa’s Mbaraki Sports Club, Kiraithe said he is not done with his current job.

“I have not even done 50 per cent of what i wanted to do at this current position,” he noted.

He said he wants to focus on what he can do to help improve the country.

“Debate on this does not help,” he said.

At the same time, Kirathe has asked Kenyans not to be obsessed with 2022 politics.

He said the government’s main focus is to implement development projects to all Kenyans and asked Kenyans to ignore leaders who keep talking about succession politics.

“The frequent politicking even in media houses cannot bring food to Kenyans,” Kiraithe said.

Kiraithe says the government is committed to fighting terrorism, to ensure citizens focus on their business without fear of attacks
