Surely when it comes to athletics the Kenyan flag keeps on proving untouchable, if only we ran our country as beautifully as our marathoners do perhaps we would be a first world.
Soon after shining in the Mumbai marathon once again we’ve been put on the map in a Dubai marathon.
Kenya’s 24 year old Ruth Chepngetich has smartly taken the crown in Dubai marathon by stunningly breaking the course record in 2 hours, 17 minutes and seven seconds ending the Ethopian dominance.
Kenya’s Ruth Chepngetich came first in the women’s #Dubai Marathon race with a time of 2:17:07, breaking the record of Roza Dereje (2:19:17) in the 2018 edition.

She took more than two minutes off Ethopian Roza Dereje’s course record of 2:19:17 and became the first Kenyan woman to win the Dubai Marathon since Delilah Asiago in 2006.
Worknesh Degefa Debele of Ethiopia finished second with a timing of 2:17: 41 while her compatriot Worknesh Degefa Gurmesa with a timing of 2:21:05 finished third.
Chepngetich will walk away with an astonishing Sh10 million – the equivalent of 100,000 US dollars.
