The Sportpesa Super cup 2019 edition final match will be an all Kenyan affair on Sunday. This follows Kariobangi Sharks 6-5 penalties win over Mbao FC in the second semi final match played in Tanzania.
Though never a dull affair, the match could not produce any goal in the ninety minutes despite a host of chances either side of the pitch. Kariobangi sharks started the kicks on the worst possible note with Patilla Omotto blasting the first kick over the bar to hand Mbao FC the initiative.
They would however not make use of that advantage as they missed their third kick too, hitting the crossbar to even things out. Sudden death would then decide who walks home with the opportunity to play the final on Sunday and as fate would have it, Mbao Fc would miss their seventh kick,much to the delight of William Muluhya and his Sharks side.
Sunday will see the all Kenyan final played at the same venue and should be quite a spectacle as both Bandari and Kariobangi Sharks favor a free flowing attacking brand of football. Whoever wins on Sunday, it will be the third year in a row that the tournament is won by a Kenyan team following Gor Mahia’s wins on the last two tournaments.We basically are the best in East Africa!
