Chelsea winger Eden Hazard has dismissed Maurizio Sarri’s criticism of his mentality after the Belgian helped his side beat Tottenham to reach Carabao Cup final.
The second leg semi-final of the EFL Cup went to penalties after a 2-2 draw on aggregate where the Blues beat Spurs 4-2 on penalties. Just before the game, Sarri had questioned Hazard’s leadership qualities, claiming he ‘has to do more’ to help the team.
“No, to be fair I don’t care, I just play my football, it doesn’t matter what the manager says,” said Hazard when asked about Sarri’s criticism.
“I’m always focused on this team, I just want to do the best for this team and I did, so I’m happy,” he added.
Sarri’s men will now meet Manchester City in the EFL Cup final on February 24th.
