Former CEC for Education Janet Ouko and her ex-boss, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko have been having misunderstandings after she resigned.
Now Ouko demanded an apology citing the alleged defamatory statement the Nairobi County boss made against her after her resignation.
“Take notice that unless we receive the written apology within the next seven days hereof, our instructions are to file a suit against you without further reference to you and at your own risk as to costs and consequences arising therefrom,” read part of the letter.
The former Education CEC wrote the letter to Sonko through her lawyer, Dan Ameyo.
According to Ouko, the allegations by Sonko that she resigned following her involvement in a county bursary kitty scandal painted her as a thief and as a person who was unfit to hold any public office.
This is according to a statement made by Sonko made on January 9, 2019, while addressing journalists in Kilifi County.
