Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has come out to speak out that he is no longer afraid of cartels. Sometimes last year Governor Mike Sonko was on the verge of packing and leaving the office due to cartels who he said were determined to undermine his service delivery.
But in a new and bold tone , Governor Mike Sonko has retracted his earlier sentiments and he seems man enough to take on those cartels.
Speaking to Jeff Koinange on JKL on Citizen TV Sonko has assured the people of Nairobi that he is up to the task to deliver despite numerous cartels running underground deals in Nairobi.
He has admitted that it is hard to root them out but he is trying to put them off;
“Dismantling cartels Jeff is not a joke. I will admit I have been firing staff. If you do the right thing you will be my friend, you engage in corruption and laziness you will go home.”
In the decongestation of the city Mike Sonko has assured Nairobians that the BRT buses will be fully functional in 3-4 months time. This is looked as the best way for the county to heal the long overdue problem that has been eating Nairobi for years.

In the naming of his Deputy Mike Sonko said he is in the process of the getting one. He is still holding consultative meetings with different stakeholders. Mike Sonko has different opinions on his table with Nasa also presenting their candidate for consideration.
