Dortmund star Christian Pulisic admits he expects to play on the wing for Chelsea once he completes his £57million move to the club. The American’s transfer to Stamford Bridge was announced last week but Chelsea fans will have to wait until next season to see him in action as the agreement meant he would stay with Dortmund for the remainder of the season.
The 20-year-old is two-footed and has played on both wings for Dortmund, as well as impressing in a no.10 position behind a main striker. Pulisic’s role may depend on the future of Eden Hazard but the American says he expects to play on the wing for Chelsea, regardless on the Belgian’s long-term plans.
‘I think they definitely see me in one of the wider areas,’ said Pulisic. ‘I think they also know that I can play kind anywhere across the attack. So I’m ready for wherever I need to be filled in really.’
Chelsea are increasingly resigned to losing Callum Hudson-Odoi with the teenager keen on joining Bayern Munich. Sarri has made no secret of his desire to keep the 18-year-old but Chelsea fear he’s already made up his mind on a move to the Bundesliga.
