January transfer window is already open and a number of clubs have started doing reinforcements in their weak areas.
Arsenal is one the clubs which needs major reinforcement after injuries and suspensions proved that the north London side needs news faces. Here are some of the players the club can acquire during this period.
Diego Godin
The Atletico Madrid defender has been important at the defence of the Spanish side. Under Diego Simeone, he has kept 121 clean sheets in 234 appearances since joining the club in 2010. He has six months remaining in his current deal and the Gunners can hold talks and bring in for free in the summer or for a little prize this January.
Gary Cahill
The Gunners have been linked with the out of favor Chelsea man with reports claiming he is on the verge of a six-month loan to the Emirates. Despite being 33 years old, the England international can offer a short-term solution to Arsenal’s back line.
Nicolas N’Koulou
Following the theme of central defenders, Arsenal is also in contention to sign Torino star and Cameroon captain Nicolas N’Koulou. N’Koulou joined the Torino in 2017 after a successful loan spell from Lyon, the fee then was a reported £3.5million and it is understood that Torino would want a considerably larger fee.
Cengiz Under
Arsenal has reportedly had a deal for the Turkish playmaker turned down with Roma not wanting to sell until the end of the season. In 23 games this season, Under has contributed to 14 goals in all competitions and Roma rate him as highly as Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah, who Liverpool signed from ‘La Lupa’ in 2017.
