Injury concerns for Arsenal ahead of Brighton clash

Arsenal have five injury concerns ahead of their trip to face Brighton and Hove Albion in the English Premier League Boxing Day fixture with Konstantinos Mavropanos, Hector Bellerin, Shkodran Mustafi, Nacho Monreal and Emile Smith Rowe all doubtful.

The Gunners have been dealt with massive injury concerns especially in their defensive department with Granit Xhaka called to step in at the center back role in games recently. The Swiss international has also featured as a left back when Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac were injured. Of all the five injury concerns, Emile Smith Rowe is the only player not be a defender.

Bellerin (calf) is not due back for another fortnight so will miss the game at the Amex, with Mustafi (hamstring) not expected back until after the Liverpool game.

Nacho Monreal (hamstring) is being assessed ahead of the Boxing Day trip to the south coast, with Konstantinos Mavropanos (groin) and Emile Smith Rowe (hip) still out.

Lucas Torreira started on the bench against Burnley after suffering from a cold in the build-up to the game but should start at Brighton – despite being one booking away from a suspension.
