The residents of Kayole in Nyama Villa area on Monday wake up to crews of police and sany bulldozers bring down their houses.
The demolition saw buildings around Nyama Villa all brought to the ground under tight security protection.
The youths attempt to stop the demolitions turned violent as the police scattered them using teargas guarding the exercise.
According to the reports that were released on the demolition of the Nyama Villa area was based on the fact that the buildings were built on a private land.
The Land Office will say. The matter is in court we cannot get involved. Though they should if at all they are serving the wider public and not the cartels. Someone has to care for something to give. Surely do I have to go there or the Ministry should act based on public outcry? https://t.co/woPyd2cIOp

Esther Passaris has rushed to the rescue of hundreds of residents who have been rendered homeless by the demolition.
Passaris has condemned the demolition which according to him they are not justified. He has called on the top official to intervene to calm down the situation which is seemingly escalating.
Who is grabbing the land in Nyama Villa right under our noses? Why did the Police oversee such massive demolitions and eviction of innocent tenants without knowledge of who they were acting for! If this is not a corrupt deal, can IG @JBoinnet make the "investor" known to us. pic.twitter.com/pEYWc24eio

Other leaders such as Babu Owino the area member of parliament has also condemned the demolition terming them as illegal and that they did not follow the correct procedures of action.
This is not easy as ABC or 123? The area MP has been banned from being within 500 mtrs of the area. No office will give 'US' information when it's the 'Monied Cartels and Corrupt Govt Officials' working together. @MikeSonko what is your position on #NyamaVillaLandGrabbing https://t.co/wgl7oibuX5

On Monday Embakasi Central member of parliament famously known as Mejja was arrested as he tried to intervene in the demolition to stop the process.
This is an inhumane action and the government should come and protect its citizens from the people who use their influence to cause the normal mwananchi to suffer.
How do you think the government should punish the person behind the demolition if nabbed ?
