Video:Passaris goes to the defense of victims of Kayole Demolitions

 

The residents of Kayole in Nyama Villa area on Monday wake up to crews of police and sany bulldozers bring down their houses.

The demolition saw buildings around Nyama Villa all brought to the ground under tight security protection.

The youths attempt to stop the demolitions turned violent as the police scattered them using teargas guarding the exercise.

According to the reports that were released on the demolition of the Nyama Villa area was based on the fact that the buildings were built on a private land.

The people were left homeless as the residents complained that they were not issued with orders or warnings of the demolitions.

Esther Passaris has rushed to the rescue of hundreds of residents who have been rendered homeless by the demolition.

Passaris has condemned the demolition which according to him they are not justified. He has called on the top official to intervene to calm down the situation which is seemingly escalating.

Other leaders such as Babu Owino the area member of parliament has also condemned the demolition terming them as illegal and that they did not follow the correct procedures of action.

On Monday Embakasi Central member of parliament famously known as Mejja was arrested as he tried to intervene in the demolition to stop the process.

This is an inhumane action and the government should come and protect its citizens from the people who use their influence to cause the normal mwananchi to suffer.
