Ruto Hangeenda !! Kenyans react to Raila’s red carpet dream

Is it that Ruto don’t need Mkeka (Red carpet) or somebody denied them a chance to walk on it?

After arriving in kisumu county the president was greeted and received by Raila Odinga among other leaders ahead of the launching of the universal healthcare.

A photo of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his handshake friend ,Raila Odinga has yet again exposed the latter’s willingness to work together.

In the photo, Ruto appears displaced from red carpet  with Raila and Uhuru walking on it.

But the arrangement has not gone down well with a section of social media users with some labeling it discrimination.

Leaders allied to Deputy President William Ruto have recently hit at unnamed individuals for allegedly conspiring to block his quest to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta at the expiry of his term in 2022.

However , the deputy president can as well walk on the carpet and by not walking on it is a personal choice.

President Kenyatta was accompanied by the deputy president to the region for an official working tour. The President will commission various development projects as well as launch the  Universal Health Coverage pilot program.

Nyeri, Isiolo and Kisumu were selected based on the Kenya Health Sector Strategic and Investment Plan (KHSSP) 2014-2018.

It indicated that Nyeri has a high prevalence rate of non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and cancer.

Isiolo was found to be among the 15 counties with high maternal mortality rates and represented sparse population, while Kisumu was selected on the basis of its high prevalence rates of communicable diseases such as HIV and malaria.

During the piloting phase, the UHC package will cater for outpatient care such as consultation, mental illness and emergency health care.

Inpatient care will include medical and surgical services, enhanced maternal and child health services and enhanced HIV, tuberculosis and malaria treatment.

Other public health services such as mosquito nets distribution, door-to-door immunisation, public health education, and screening for non-communicable diseases will also be issued.
