Twitter is on fire after former journalist Moses Dola was sentenced to ten years in prison after he was found guilty of manslaughter following the murder of his wife Wambui Kabiru.
Lady Justice Roselyne Korir noted that though Dola was remorseful, Kabiru’s family is still bitter and is demanding for justice.
“The victim report filed in court showed that the family of the deceased is yet to come to terms with the death of their daughter,” the judge said in her ruling.
However the ruling has attracted mix reactions from Kenyans with others claiming the judge was too lenient,
Here are some of the reactions;
Has family and friends of late Wambui Kabiru got justice at last? What is 10yrs jail term for Moses Dola who slaughtered his fiance, knowing he had been behind bars 7yrs and if simple mathematics is done
10yrs jail
7yrs custody ➖
= 3yrs remaining— Jacob Abere Matlala (@JacobAbere) November 29, 2018
Sarah Wambui Kabiru was killed in 2011 at the couple’s home in Umoja estate, Nairobi.
Too lenient, Moses Dola should be jailed for life

MOSES DOLA SHOULD BE FREED. IT WAS UNFORTUNATE THAN WAMBUI KABIRU LOST HER LIFE BUT I DON'T THINK HIS JAILING WILL GET HER LIFE BACK. FORGIVE AND FORGET……. #LIFEISIMPORTANT

Earlier in October, Dola was found guilty of manslaughter by the High Court,the court ruled that the former journalist was the strongest party in the argument between him and his slain wife leading to her demise.
“The fatal assault was done by the accused who caused the death of the deceased and his conduct was that of a guilty person,” ruled Korir.
A non-custodial sentence is a punishment given by a court of law that does not involve a prison term.
“Wambui died at a young age and the son deprived of her mother at a young age too,” stated the prosecution.
The journalist explained to the court that he never intended to kill Kabiru and that he was sorry.
The couple had a son who was two years old at the time.
Do you think the judge was too lenient?
